    Quick answers

How much does a trip to Nepal cost per day?
Roughly NPR 3,500–5,000 (about US$25–40) per person per day on a budget, NPR 8,000–12,000 (US$60–90) with standard hotels and private transport, and NPR 20,000 or more (US$150+) for comfort travel — before flights, park fees and permits. Use the calculator above for your own route.
How much does the Everest Base Camp trek cost?
Most of the cost is the Lukla flights, Sagarmatha National Park and local fees, lodges and food, and a guide. Load the “Everest Base Camp” trip above to see a full estimate for your group and travel style.
Do I need a guide for trekking in Nepal?
Since 2023 foreign trekkers in national parks and conservation areas must go with a licensed guide, and restricted areas such as Upper Mustang, Manaslu and Dolpo always need a guide and a special permit.
    What permits do I need?
National park or conservation area entry (for example ACAP for Annapurna, Sagarmatha for Everest) and, in restricted areas, a special permit charged in US dollars per week. The calculator adds the usual ones for each place.
