Phewa Lake and Tal Barahi
In Nepali: फेवाताल र तालबाराही · Also known as: Fewa Tal · Tal Barahi · फेवाताल

Phewa is Nepal's second-largest lake and the heart of Pokhara. On calm mornings the snow peak of Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna range are mirrored in its surface, and colourful wooden boats wait along the Lakeside shore.
Row or be rowed to the island temple of Tal Barahi, a two-tiered pagoda of the goddess Barahi, and on to the far shore to climb to the World Peace Pagoda. Paragliders from Sarangkot drift down over the lake in the afternoons.
What to see and do
Hire a rowing boat or a boat with a boatman from the Lakeside ghats and cross to the Tal Barahi island temple, especially busy on Saturdays. Paddle across to the forested south shore and climb to the World Peace Pagoda, or walk the lakeside path north towards Pame and Khapaudi, where paddy fields meet the water. Evenings bring sunset colours and lakeside restaurants with live music.
Stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking are available, and the paragliders landing near the lake at Lakeside are fun to watch.
Good to know
Life jackets are provided with boats — wear them. The best reflections of Machhapuchhre come early on calm mornings between October and March. Swimming is not recommended near the busy shore.
