Okhaldhunga and Rumjatar
In Nepali: ओखलढुंगा र रुम्जाटार

Okhaldhunga's headquarters, now Siddhicharan municipality, is named after Siddhicharan Shrestha, the 'poet of the age' born here in 1912. The town has an old stone fort (gadhi) and the long-running Okhaldhunga Community Hospital, and the ridge looks north to Everest and Numbur on clear days.
Nearby Rumjatar sits on an unusual flat terrace with an airstrip, and the district's hills are known for oranges, lapsi and Sherpa, Magar, Rai and Chhetri villages. It is well off the tourist trail and very welcoming.
What to see and do
Explore the old gadhi (fort) area and the bazaar, visit the memorial to Siddhicharan Shrestha, and walk to ridges with views of the Everest range. Rumjatar's flat terrace and the orange-growing slopes around it make pleasant day walks.
Good to know
Okhaldhunga is rarely visited by tourists, so facilities are basic, but people are hospitable. The area can be combined with Salleri and Pikey Peak to the north or Halesi to the east.
